ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Must have previously completed a RIIWHS301E/RIIWHS301D Conduct Safety and Health Investigations and supply SOA
Can use and interpret the English language that enables the safe performance of work Industry regards refresher assessment on a 5 year cycle as good practice
COURSE OVERVIEW
This G189 Mine Supervisor refresher course is recommended every 5 years. This is as per Reg. 84 of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation 2017 (Qld). The G189 Mine Supervisor refresher course meets the requirements for the position of a Mine Supervisor in the Resources Industry as per s.56 of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and s.51 of the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999. It is recognised by both Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee and the Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee.
In total, you need to complete the 3 nationally recognised units of competency, RIICOM301E - Communicate information, RIIRIS301E - Apply risk management processes, RIIWHS301E - Conduct safety and health investigations. Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The SOA is issued upon successful completion provided that all entry requirements have been met and course fees are paid in full.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
RPL is not offered for refresher courses.
LANGUAGE, LITERACY & NUMERACY SUPPORT
Language, literacy and numeracy requirements for this course are presumed to be met from prior SOA.
Course will day the day after enrolment.
